The Hardy Boys segments were much more popular than the Nancy Drew bits though, doubtlessly due in part to Shaun Cassidy's music career and pinup appeal. The Nancy Drew segments were featured less and less frequently, starting in the second season. Eventually, Pamela Sue Martin was reduced to nothing but a guest star on the Hardy Boys episodes. What's more, her character did not display the same courage and calm under pressure under the new arrangement. |
